Delicious, Buttery Chardonnays That Are Easy On Your Wallet

I’m always on the lookout for new wines that I like. There are so many out there, and even when a description includes all the tasting notes it’s always a gamble as to whether or not I’ll actually like it. I’m pretty picky when it comes to all beverages, not just alcoholic ones. And when it comes to Chardonnay, I just want something buttery and smooth and balanced. I also don’t like those tart tastes where I feel like I need to smack my lips and want a sip of water immediately after my sip of wine.

Here are a few affordable (all under $25!) incredible chardonnays that anyone is sure to love and they pair well with just about any kind of food. They fit all my criteria and are my go-to’s every time. So whether you’re just looking for a glass of nice buttery chardonnay to wind down after work or want a crowd-pleaser for your next dinner party, these are sure to become some of your new favs. Cheers!

(Note: I know wines are bottled and sold by year. I’m not noting any particular year for these wines. I’ve been drinking them for ages and am always very happy with these vineyards and grapes regardless of the year.)

1. CUPCAKE BUTTERKISSED CHARDONNAY

Cupcake Butterkissed Chardonnay

Even just the name sounds delicious, and I promise you it tastes as good as it sounds! Cupcake Vineyards describes this wine as:

Our Butterkissed Chardonnay is a rich, decadent take on a timeless varietal. We grow our grapes in the sun-drenched vineyards of California, where the long, warm growing season helps us coax rich, indulgent flavors into the bottle. Butterkissed Chardonnay has a smooth, creamy mouthfeel, with luscious buttery notes and hints of vanilla, white peach and citrus zest. Serve chilled with wood-fired pizza, parmesan crusted chicken breast or at impromptu get-togethers with friends.

2. CHALK HILL CHARDONNAY SONOMA COAST

Chalk Hill Chardonnay

Description from Drizly.com: Chalk Hill Chardonnay Sonoma Coast is a light golden color and exudes aromas of apple and baking spice immediately upon entering the glass. The palate has a rich textural body composed by zest and acidity with flavors of toasted hazelnut, vanilla and crème brûlée. With its cool-climate influences, this Chardonnay has remarkable varietal intensity, balanced acidity and minerality that complement the rich and full flavors on the palate.

3. LA CREMA CHARDONNAY SONOMA COAST

La Crema Chardonnay Sonoma Coast

This is one of my all time favs. Look for the Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, I’m not as big of fan of their Monterey Chardonnay. La Crema describes the tasting notes as: Vibrant, rich and balanced. Highly concentrated in flavor and signature smooth until the last drop. Aromas of Meyer Lemon, Gala Apple, and subtle hints of oak are followed by flavors of White Stone Fruit, Yellow Plum, and Honeydew Melon. On the palate, the wine is vibrant and concentrated with juicy acidity that drives a lingering finish.

4. ACACIA CHARDONNAY

Acacia Chardonnay

Capturing the hallmark features of Napa Valley’s Los Carneros region, Acacia Chardonnay offers bright aromas of ripe stone fruit, lemon peel, mandarin spice and tones of warm honeycomb. Beautifully balanced with flavors of creme caramel, green apple and lemon oil and fresh citrus and toasted almond notes on the finish.
